Advertising disclosures

How advertising & paid placements work.

The Lenders Network is a loan comparison and education site, not a lender. We’re funded primarily by advertising and partner compensation, not by charging you fees to use the site. This page explains how ads, sponsored placements, and partner relationships influence what you see — and what they don’t.

Last updated: 2026

  • ✓ We are paid by some lenders and partners when you click, call, submit forms, or otherwise engage.
  • ✓ Compensation can influence where, how, and in what order certain offers appear.
  • ✓ We do not show every lender or every product available in the market.
  • ✓ We do not take sides in your loan transaction. We’re a comparison layer, not a lender.

For more about our role and compensation model, see Partner Transparency, Loan Comparison Network, and our Service Disclaimer.

Advertising on The Lenders Network

We earn money when you interact with some offers, links, or tools from independent lenders and partners. Those companies may receive more prominent placement or labeling (such as “Sponsored” or “Featured”) when they pay to advertise.

Not a lender
Partner‑supported platform
Sponsored & featured labels matter

Our goal is to make these relationships understandable so you can weigh them alongside rates, fees, and other factors when comparing offers.

1. Why The Lenders Network uses advertising

The Lenders Network does not charge you a fee to browse content, use calculators, or request that lenders contact you. Instead, our business model is based primarily on:

  • Advertising from lenders and other financial service providers.
  • Fees for leads or introductions when you request contact or submit certain forms.
  • Campaigns, sponsorships, or enhanced placements purchased by partners.

This model lets us operate as an independent comparison site while giving lenders and other companies a clear way to reach interested consumers. Our independence comes from the fact that we are not the lender and do not earn money based on your final loan terms.

2. When we may be compensated

We may receive compensation from lenders, brokers, and other partners in several ways, including when you:

  • Click on partner links or buttons on our site.
  • Call a phone number associated with a specific lender or partner listing.
  • Submit your information through a form to request contact or quotes.
  • Use a co‑branded tool or experience powered by a partner.

Not every link or listing results in compensation, but you should assume that many clearly commercial placements are paid relationships. That’s the reality of how most comparison sites and media businesses afford to create and maintain content.

For more about how we share information with partners, see the “How we share your information” section of our Privacy Policy.

3. What “Sponsored,” “Featured,” or similar labels mean

Labels are signals of paid placement

Throughout The Lenders Network, you may see labels such as:

  • “Sponsored”
  • “Featured”
  • “Ad” or “Advertisement”
  • “Partner offer”

These labels generally indicate that a lender or partner is paying for enhanced visibility in that space. This may include:

  • Premium placement on a page or within a comparison table.
  • Inclusion in a curated “short list” or highlighted section.
  • Additional branding or creative elements beyond a basic listing.

Sponsored status does not mean we have individually evaluated the offer as “best for you,” and it does not mean you should stop comparing it to other options. It simply means a commercial relationship is influencing how that offer appears.

4. How ranking, ordering, and inclusion work

We want to be open about what determines the order and prominence of offers on The Lenders Network. The factors can include:

  • Compensation (for example, paid sponsorships or lead fees).
  • Relevance to your stated preferences or location.
  • Availability of products for certain borrower profiles.
  • Partner performance (such as responsiveness or user feedback).

We do not promise that:

  • Offers are sorted purely by interest rate, APR, or total cost.
  • We list every lender or product that exists in the market.

You should treat the lists and displays you see as a curated starting point, not a full marketplace or an individualized recommendation. Whenever possible, get quotes from multiple lenders, including at least one outside our network, for context.

Compensation can influence where and how offers appear, but it does not change the fact that The Lenders Network is not your lender and is not a party to any loan agreement.

5. Our role as a comparison site (not a lender)

It’s easy to forget who is who when you move from reading content to filling out forms and talking to lenders. To be clear:

  • The Lenders Network is a comparison and lead‑generation platform that collects your information and sends it to independent lenders when you ask us to.
  • Independent lenders are the ones who analyze your application, pull your credit (if you consent), make credit decisions, and set loan terms.

Advertising and partner compensation affect which lenders we highlight and how. They do not turn us into your lender or change the fact that we are not making the loan. Your contract is with the lender you choose, under that lender’s terms and disclosures.

For a more detailed explanation, see Is The Lenders Network a Lender?

6. Types of commercial relationships we may have

Our relationships with lenders and partners can take several forms, including:

  • Cost‑per‑lead (CPL): we receive a fee when you submit a form that is sent to a lender.
  • Cost‑per‑click (CPC): we receive a fee when you click on certain links or buttons.
  • Cost‑per‑call (CPP): we receive a fee when you call certain tracked phone numbers.
  • Flat‑fee sponsorship: a lender pays to be featured in a particular section or campaign.
  • Performance‑based campaigns: compensation based on conversions or other metrics.

These relationships are commercial. They are not fiduciary relationships and do not create an agency relationship between us and you or between us and any lender. We are a marketing and comparison platform.

7. Potential conflicts of interest & how we address them

Because we are paid by some of the companies we list, there is an inherent potential for conflicts of interest. Left unmanaged, this could bias what you see in ways that are not obvious. We try to mitigate this by:

  • Clearly labeling sponsored or featured content where feasible.
  • Separating editorial/educational content from pure ad creative where practicable.
  • Providing links to disclosures like this one and to our Partner Transparency page.
  • Encouraging users to compare multiple lenders, not just sponsored ones.

We still benefit when you engage with partners. That’s unavoidable. What we can do — and are doing here — is give you enough information to factor that into your decision‑making.

8. No guarantees about offers or savings

Any sample rates, ranges, or potential savings shown on The Lenders Network are:

  • For illustrative purposes only; and
  • Based on assumptions or data that may not match your specific profile.

We do not guarantee:

  • That any lender will offer you the rates, terms, or savings shown.
  • That you will be approved for a loan at all.
  • That the offers you receive through our platform will be better than offers you could find elsewhere.

Only the lender can provide you with an official Loan Estimate and, later, a Closing Disclosure that reflect your actual approved terms. Those documents — not anything you see on our site — control your legal obligations.

9. How you should use our site given these disclosures

Given that advertising and partner compensation influence what you see, a rational way to use The Lenders Network is to:

  • Use our tools to discover and compare multiple lenders quickly.
  • Request quotes from more than one lender, ideally on the same day.
  • Ask each lender to provide a Loan Estimate so you can compare total costs, not just rates.
  • Check at least one option outside our network if you want a broader view of the market.

By doing this, you turn our ad‑supported model into an advantage: lenders pay to reach you, and you leverage that competition to your benefit.

10. Changes to these advertising disclosures

We may update this page to reflect changes in:

  • Our relationships with lenders and partners.
  • How we label or present advertising and sponsored content.
  • Legal or regulatory requirements for disclosures.

When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and may provide additional notice where required (for example, via a banner or in‑page message).

11. How to contact us about advertising and sponsorships

Follow the labels

How to read “Sponsored” and “Featured” tags

When you see “Sponsored,” “Featured,” or similar labels, assume the advertiser is paying for that exposure. That’s not inherently bad; it just means you should:

• Treat labeled offers as paid ads, not endorsements.
• Compare labeled and unlabeled options side by side.
• Ask lenders to explain their offers in writing.

Labels = paid visibility Still your decision
Non‑lender model

Why “not a lender” matters here

Because we are not a lender, we don’t make or service your mortgage. That means:

• Our revenue comes from marketing and comparison services, not from points or interest on your loan.
• We do not earn more if your rate is higher or your costs are larger.
• Lenders compete with each other on our platform; you are free to walk away from all of them.

Advertising is how this non‑lender model gets paid for. Your best move is to use it to your advantage by shopping aggressively.

We’re paid by partners, not by your loan
