How our partner lenders work with The Lenders Network.
The Lenders Network is a home loan comparison site. We do not make loans. Instead, we connect consumers with independent mortgage lenders and brokers that participate in our network. This page explains how partners are added, how we are compensated, and how that may influence what you see.
- We are not a mortgage lender or broker. We do not underwrite, approve, or fund loans.
- Participating lenders pay us for marketing and referral services, not for higher prices or hidden consumer fees.
- Some partners may receive preferred placement, but they cannot buy positive editorial coverage.
- You decide which lender, if any, to contact or apply with. You can always shop outside our network as well.
For the legal terms that govern all use of our sites and services, please review our Terms of Use and Service Disclaimer.
Our role compared to mortgage lenders
The Lenders Network operates as a marketing and comparison platform. We help consumers explore home loan information and connect with lenders who may be able to serve them. We do not:
- Take formal loan applications or collect full underwriting documentation.
- Pull or evaluate your credit to approve or deny a loan.
- Offer, negotiate, or lock specific loan terms on behalf of any lender.
- Fund loans or service your mortgage after closing.
Any loan you obtain is made directly by a lender you choose. That lender is responsible for all required disclosures, underwriting decisions, closing processes, and servicing or transfer of the loan after closing.
More detail about our non lender status appears in our Service Disclaimer and Terms of Use.
How lenders and other partners join our network
Our network includes mortgage lenders, brokers, and in some cases real estate professionals or service providers that want to reach consumers who are actively researching home loans. In general, partners:
- Enter into a written marketing or referral agreement with The Lenders Network.
- Confirm that they hold any licenses or registrations required in the states where they operate.
- Provide information about their loan products, geographic coverage, and areas of focus.
- Agree to follow applicable laws, including fair lending and consumer protection requirements.
We may review public information, regulator actions, and performance data when deciding whether to invite or retain a lender as a partner. However, we do not independently audit every loan they make and we do not guarantee the quality, pricing, or suitability of any specific lender.
How The Lenders Network is compensated
Using The Lenders Network is free for consumers. We are typically compensated by participating partners. Depending on the arrangement, compensation may include:
- Fees when a consumer clicks a partner link, button, or phone call prompt from our site.
- Fees when a consumer submits a form and we pass that information to one or more lenders as a lead.
- Flat monthly or campaign based fees for featured placement or branded experiences.
These payments help fund our website, tools, and educational content. They do not change the fact that we are not a lender and do not make underwriting decisions.
For more information about advertising and sponsorships, see our Advertising Disclosures.
How compensation can affect what you see
Partners that compensate us may appear in more places on our site than lenders that do not. In some tools or comparison experiences, a lender that pays more for placement may appear higher or more prominently than other options. However:
- Paying us does not allow a lender to change or approve our editorial content.
- We do not sell personal positive reviews or “guaranteed” ratings.
- Consumers are free to ignore any offer shown and choose other lenders instead.
We work to label sponsored content clearly and to avoid presenting marketing language as neutral advice. Still, you should always compare multiple offers and consider your own priorities before choosing a lender.
Our role is to provide a helpful starting point, not a complete or exhaustive marketplace of every lender or loan product that might be available to you.
Limitations and no best rate guarantee
We do not guarantee that offers or ranges shown on our site represent the lowest rate, fees, or total cost available in the market. Lenders outside our network may offer products or pricing that you will not see through The Lenders Network.
The rates, payment estimates, and lender descriptions that appear in our tools are provided by partners or generated using assumptions they supply. Actual terms depend on your credit profile, income, debt, property details, and the lender’s own underwriting standards at the time you apply.
You should review all disclosures, loan estimates, and closing documents provided by your chosen lender before committing to a loan. If anything is unclear, ask the lender to explain it in writing.
Your choices when using The Lenders Network
You decide how and when to interact with lenders that participate in our network. In many of our forms and tools, you can:
- Select how many lenders may receive your information, where that setting is available.
- Indicate whether you prefer to be contacted by phone, email, text, or a combination.
- Use our educational content without requesting a lender match at all.
You can also ask a lender to stop contacting you after you have been matched. Our Contact Preferences and Do Not Call pages explain these options in more detail.
